3 Tools to Help You Fit Fitness Into Your Workday
I love staying active, but sometimes it’s tough when you’re a busy professional. Of course we all know exercise lowers our stress levels, helps us focus, and gives us energy to maintain working throughout the day but it’s easy to let it fall to the bottom of the to-do list. Here are a few of my favorite resources to get a quick workout in during a hectic schedule:
The site features classes taught by boutique studios right in the comfort of your living room. Most of the classes are around 30 minutes in length. There’s a good amount of variety, from pilates to cardio dance. They recently changed their pricing model, but at $10/month, it’s better than most gym memberships and you don’t have to waste time commuting there and back.
It’s an app for iOS and Android that creates workouts for you based on the amount of time you have to spend and the part of the body you want to focus on. The app doesn’t require you to use any equipment and is free.
There’s a ton out there, but two of my favorites are Fitness Blender and Yoga with Adrienne which both feature different length workouts and workouts you can do at work like this one or this one. It’s a great solution for a rainy workday when you can’t take a walk.
Don't undermine the value of simply getting up to move! Walk as much as you can during the day and I bet you’ll be surprised what a difference it makes. Our staff had a walking challenge last spring, which helped us encourage each other to take walking meetings and stroll together during lunch. You may surprise yourself as you feel a different from just doing a few minutes of walking or stretching here and there.
