cAREER & LEADERSHIP COACHING

I’ve seen it within myself, among friends, and the thousands of individuals I’ve coached over the years: you’re motivated, work hard, and finally land what you thought was your dream job…only to ask “what’s next?” My goal is to empower people like you who are eager to find more meaning and momentum in their career as they aim to answer that very question.

While I currently have a full roster of clients who I work with on an ongoing basis, I do open up a few select spots each month for 1 hour strategy sessions. After doing a strategy session, we’ll have a strong foundation and can talk about continuing to work together on a monthly retainer (at two 1-hour sessions a month) if you are interested and I have availability. Strategy sessions are $189.

CHART YOUR COURSE: UNCOVER THE CAREER YOU WANT

There are times in all of our lives when we question our next career steps. But how do you figure out what's next, when the only thing you know is that you don't want to keep doing what you've been doing?

As your coach, I'll help you clarify how your values, interests, personality, and skills influence how you like to work. Together we'll create a strategy to help you reflect on these items and begin to uncover a career that provides meaning and satisfaction. From there, you'll begin to identify and test various career possibilities. You'll walk away with clarity about where you'd like to go next in your career path.

MAKE YOUR MOVE: TRANSITION INTO A NEW POSITION

When it comes to job searching, it's easy to get stuck in a rut when we go at it alone. We may fall into routines that don't actually serve us, or start listening to our inner critic to avoid stepping out of our comfort zone. That's where career coaching comes in.

As your coach, I'll provide an objective perspective to help you not only stand out as a job candidate, but also create a sustainable strategy that gets you energized and moving forward. You'll learn how to take confident action steps and overcome obstacles to get your job search on track.

EXCEL AT WORK: THRIVE AS A LEADER IN YOUR ORGANIZATION

You’re a mover and a shaker looking to reach new heights in your career. But careers today aren’t linear – and without a clear-cut path to success, it’s easy to feel lost. What skills and knowledge do you need to move forward? How can you improve your leadership skills? How can you experience more productivity, or even fun, at work?

As your coach, I’m here to help you uncover answers to questions like these. Anything from getting and giving feedback, to leading effective meetings, to speaking up at work is fair game for our coaching sessions. Through our coaching conversations, we’ll uncover what it is that you’re hoping to achieve, what’s holding you back, and action steps you can take to move forward. You’ll leave each session with practical homework and tools to help you thrive in your career.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT WILL WE COVER IN A STRATEGY SESSION?

During our session, we'll dive into:

  1. Vision: What do you hope for in your career? What goals would you like to reach? How does this fit with your overall life goals

  2. Strategy: What does success look like in 6 months? 1 year? We'll create a plan that gets you into action toward these milestones.

  3. Resources: What tools or resources are available to help you reach your goals? I'll share recommendations (books, podcasts, templates, etc.) to help you as you put your strategy into place.

  4. Action Steps: What should you prioritize on the to-do list? We'll come up with a list of specific next steps as you begin to implement your strategy.

After our call, I'll share my detailed notes that include the action steps. This means you get to focus on our conversation in the moment and come back to what we discussed in an organized way at any point in time. After the call, you can also add your own notes about your progress on homework to this shared Google doc to make sure you stay on track.

WILL YOU DO DOCUMENT (RESUME, COVER LETTER, ETC.) REVIEWS?

Yes! Prior to our strategy session, I will send you a link to a shared Google folder where you can upload your documents. I will review them virtually and send you a video with my feedback. This way, we don't have to use our time during the strategy session going over your docs.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE THE STRATEGY SESSION TO PREPARE?

Once you book your strategy session, I'll send you an email with a link to a shared Google folder where you can upload any documents you'd like me to see (i.e. resume, cover letter, etc.). I'll also include a link to my clients-only resource page where you can download any of my resources (including e-books) for free and browse other tools and articles I've compiled.

I'M NOT READY TO PURCHASE YET. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?

Take a look through my free resources and blogs. A lot of my blogs are focused on quick, actionable steps you can take to improve your performance and step up as a leader at work.

ARE WE A GOOD FIT?

I love working with motivated, ambitious people who are seeking to make an impact in a variety of industries. I’ve worked with individuals in tech, education, finance, healthcare, government, etc.

I have over 8 years under my belt as a career coach and lecturer at top-notch universities including Stanford, UNC Chapel Hill, and The College of William & Mary. Most recently, I worked on the Growth and Development team at a tech company in the heart of Silicon Valley, so I know what it takes to advance your career as an emerging leader in the field. I'm a Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation and committed to delivering an excellent coaching experience.

Fun things about me: I love reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with my friends and family. My first major in college was interior design and while I didn’t pursue it as a career, I still love to decorate! I consider myself a lifelong learner and would probably stay in school forever if I could. At any given moment you’ll probably find me enrolled in a class of some kind.

HAPPY CLIENTS

I wanted to make a change in role, and Katherine helped me to hone in on transferrable skills, not get pigeon-holed, and get from A to B. She had a way of forcing me to answer my own questions (held the mirror up) and helped me to feel confident from within.
— Taryn, Los Angeles, CA
After being laid off from my job earlier this year, I connected with Katherine for her career guidance. Katherine went beyond an advisory role; it was like having conversations with a friend. She treated me with respect and courtesy. When times were tough, she was a great encouragement and always made sure I acknowledged the best parts of myself.
— Moni, Chicago, IL
I am so thankful I had Katherine help me with my resume, strengths and possible career paths. I was in a big rut and she gave me confidence and also helped me focus on what was important on my applications. She is very good at what she does! Definitely would recommend.

Katherine was awesome. I often just need help getting a plan to paper and commitment on executing the plan and Katherine did that and more. Katherine did a great job helping me define what I needed to do for my job search plan, defining what exactly success looks like, and putting timelines around the plan.
— KatyJo, Houston, TX
Katherine is a pleasure to work with and an excellent coach! I didn’t know how to express my job experiences in a way that sold myself. Katherine helped me achieve the confidence to give my resume to any hiring manager. I’m looking forward to working with her again to further my professional development.
