Chart Your Course: Uncover What’s Next
There are times in all of our lives when we question our next steps. But how do you figure out where you’re going, when the only thing you know is that you don't want to stay where you currently are?
Through coaching, you’ll discover how your values, interests, and strengths shape your vision for the future. Together we'll create a strategy to help you reflect on these items and begin to uncover work that aligns. From there, you'll begin to identify and explore possibilities. You'll walk away with clarity about what’s next as you continue to cultivate your career.
Make Your Move: Transition into a new Role
When it comes to landing and taking on a new role, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut when we go it alone. Change can be tough. We may fall into routines that don't actually serve us, or start listening to our inner critic to avoid stepping out of our comfort zone. That's where coaching comes in.
As your coach, I’ll help you create a sustainable strategy that gets you energized and moving forward. I’ve worked with clients as they go from individual contributor to new manager, student to employee, and freelancer to full-time employee. I’ve also coached lots of people as they switch industries, organizations, and job functions. Whatever career transition you’re making, you’ll learn how to take confident action steps and overcome obstacles to make it a smooth one.
Excel at Work: Thrive as a Leader in Your Organization
You’re a mover and a shaker looking to reach new heights in your career. But careers today aren’t linear – and without a clear-cut path to success, it’s easy to feel lost. What skills and knowledge do you need to move forward? How can you improve your leadership skills? How can you experience more productivity, or even fun, at work?
As your coach, I’m here to help you uncover answers to questions like these. Anything from getting and giving feedback, to leading effective meetings, to speaking up at work is fair game for our coaching sessions. Through our coaching conversations, we’ll dig into what it is that you’re hoping to achieve, what’s holding you back, and action steps you can take to move forward. You’ll leave each session with practical homework and tools to help you thrive in your career.

Q. What will we cover in a sample session?
A. When you schedule your sample session, you will also be prompted to answer a few questions about yourself. It’s expected that you bring a topic to be coached on to our session, so these questions can quickly help you surface one. Your answers will also help me to learn more about you ahead of time so that I can better coach you and we can maximize our time together.
During the sample session, we’ll spend about 5 minutes establishing context, 20 minutes on actual coaching, and 5 minutes for questions and next steps.
After our call, I'll share my detailed notes from the sample coaching session. This means you get to focus on our conversation in the moment and come back to what we discussed in an organized way at any point in time. After the call, you can also add your own notes about your progress on homework to this shared Google doc to make sure you stay on track.
Q. Will you do document (resume, cover letter, LinkedIn, website) reviews?
A. Yes! Once we decide to work together, I will send you a link to a shared Google folder where you can upload your documents. I will review them virtually and send you my feedback. This way, we don't have to use our time during the coaching session going over your docs.
Q. I’m not ready to sign up. What else can I do?
A. Keep in mind that any time is a great time to start coaching. The sample session is free, and all about you so you have nothing to lose!
Other things you can do in the meantime: Take a look through my free resources and blogs. A lot of my blogs are focused on quick, actionable steps you can take to improve your performance and step up as a leader.
Q. Are we a good fit?
A. I love working with motivated, ambitious millennials who are seeking to make an impact in a variety of industries. I’ve worked with individuals in tech, education, finance, healthcare, government, etc.
With over a decade of experience in the field, I’ve coached thousands of people across different backgrounds, industries, and locations – from here in North Carolina, to Stanford University and the startup world of Silicon Valley. I’ve created a variety of experiential learning and professional development opportunities – everything from webinars to group coaching programs to workshops, and more.
Throughout everything, I’ve learned that there’s momentum to be gained when you have the right partner by your side. You can finally make things happen when you have an experienced advocate to help you find the best, most authentic ways to cultivate your career. So if you’re ready to explore possibility in your role or organization, I’d love to help you step into that potential.
Fun things about me: I love reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with my friends and family. My first major in college was interior design and while I didn’t pursue it as a career, I still love to decorate! I consider myself a lifelong learner and would probably stay in school forever if I could. At any given moment you’ll probably find me enrolled in a class of some kind. My clients often describe me as insightful, creative, motivating, and fun.

“I recently moved into a management role at my company. That was a big step and working with Katherine has helped a lot. Talking through different challenges regarding managing a team and communicating with other executives at the company has given me more confidence in my own perspective and ideas. I'm now much more likely to communicate more openly and advocate for my perspective.”
— Sarah, San Francisco, CA
“I wanted to make a change in role, and Katherine helped me to hone in on transferrable skills, not get pigeon-holed, and get from A to B. She had a way of forcing me to answer my own questions (held the mirror up) and helped me to feel confident from within.”
— Taryn, Los Angeles, CA
“I was making a career change, leaving my full-time job to finish grad school. Nervous about how I would maintain momentum, Katherine helped me see that my top values were creating and connecting, and that I could do those things in any number of ways. For the first time in my life, I prioritized my creative time, writing and drawing for the first hour of every day, and it felt amazing. One year later, I have graduated, completed a book of my art that came out of my daily drawing practice, and have plans to speak at an international conference about my book. Realizing that I crave structure, I landed a full-time job that will allow me to incorporate my education and interests. Katherine is an enthusiastic advocate who is not afraid to hold you accountable when you need a reminder of your priorities. She allowed me to find my own way by asking the right questions. I highly recommend her to those who are facing a transition, a new challenge, or those who just need a nudge to get out of their own way!”
— Jennifer, New York, New York
“Working with Katherine has helped unlock my creativity and increase my engagement at work. I previously had some big blocks that prevented me from growing in my career and working with Katherine has given me a more holistic perspective of what’s possible and helped me uncover where my interest and energy is. I’ve gotten a lot out of our consistent and hyper-relevant discussions and am grateful to be working with Katherine.”
— Carl, San Francisco, CA
“I recently started a new, full-time job while also continuing to work on my PhD. Transitioning from being a full-time student to a full-time employee was difficult in and of itself, but trying to maintain momentum on my writing was proving to be nearly impossible until I started working with Katherine. Katherine helped me tap into the different parts of myself that allowed me to manage the flow of my day with compassion and realism. Her coaching allowed me to shift my perspective from one of limitation to one of possibility. She let me be the expert on my own life but held me accountable to the best version of myself. It was truly a pleasure working with Katherine. I would recommend her to anyone who is feeling stuck or needs a refresh on why they set out to do something really challenging.”
— mallory, chapel hill, nc
“Katherine is a pleasure to work with and an excellent coach! I didn’t know how to express my job experiences in a way that sold myself. Katherine helped me achieve the confidence to give my resume to any hiring manager. I’m looking forward to working with her again to further my professional development.”
